Funding

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

The National Disability Insurance Scheme provides funding and support for people with disability. NDIS funding may be used to pay for Speech Pathology services when your child has communication goals in their NDIS Plan. CHAT Centre Speech Pathology provides services to Self-Managed NDIS Participants.

Medicare

Your child may be eligible for Medicare rebates for Speech Pathology Services:

If your child has complex care needs your General Practitioner (GP) may provide a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM). A CDM provides rebates that can be used for allied health services.

If your child has a neurodevelopmental disorder your Paediatrician may provide a Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Eligible Disabilities Plan. Rebates may be used for assessing and treating neurodevelopmental differences such as autism.

Private Health Insurance

Rebates for Speech Pathology services may be available through your private health insurance. Please contact your private health fund to find out your level of cover.

Fees

CHAT Centre Speech Pathology is a private billing practice

Fees will be charged for the following types of services:

  1. Direct Services (face-to-face) – such as assessments, therapy sessions, telehealth consultations and attending client meetings.
  2. Indirect Services (non face-to-face) – such as writing reports, developing programs, emails and phone calls, session planning, funding applications and making resources.
  3. Travel – including the time and distance travelled to and from appointments.
  4. Late Cancellations – if you need to cancel your appointment you must give two business days notice. Late cancellations and missed appointments will be charged the full fee.

Hourly Fees

Private Clients and Self-Managed NDIS Participants$210.00

Fees must be paid in full on the day of service.
